Donnacha Loughrey is Chief Executive Officer (PCF-8) for Principal Asset Management with overall responsibility for the day-to-day management and steering of the business activities of the Management Company in Ireland.

Prior to joining Principal, Mr Loughrey established and successfully scaled up Crossroads Capital Management (“CCM”) as a reputable, independent 3rd Party AIFM and UCITS Management Company in Ireland. Mr Loughrey has held several Pre-Approval Controlled Functions (PCF) under the Central Bank of Ireland’s Fitness & Probity regime and has held numerous fund board directorships. Prior to setting up CCM, Mr Loughrey was Head of Alternative Investments & Third-Party Funds at KBC Fund Management Ltd and was a founding member of the alternative investments business.

Previously he was employed an Associate Director at Goldman Sachs International within their highly regarded Global Strategy team and began his career as an analyst within the Global Asset Allocation team at Merrill Lynch Asset Management. His professional qualifications include Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst Association (CAIA) and he is also a member of the Global Association of Risk Professionals (GARP). He is an Associate member of the Chartered Financial Analyst Institute (CFA), formerly as an Associate member of the Institute of Investment Management and Research (IIMR) since 1994.

He received his Bachelor Business Studies (BBS) from Trinity College Dublin in 1991 and holds a MSc in Investment & Treasury (Hons.) from Dublin City University Business School in 1994. He has established a large network of relationships with a variety of global asset managers and service providers and has been a regular contributor and presenter at funds industry conferences.
